Orthotic Management of Deformational Plagiocephaly

Orthotists and prosthetists throughout the United States are receiving referrals for cranial remolding orthoses and are interested in learning as much as possible about this group of young infants. This online learning course will provide access to this clinical information so that the practitioner can provide quality care and the best outcomes possible for infants with deformational plagiocephaly and other head shape deformities. |

| Instruction will be provided using a variety of techniques including powerpoint, demonstrations, and outside reading. This course covers the same content as our one day ABC accredited course on Orthotic Management of Deformational Plagiocephaly and Other Head Shape Deformities that is part of our two day Pediatric Orthotic Management from Head to Toes Course. In addition, extensive reading and understanding of the literature is required with the online course. |

| Competency: |
|
Learner must achieve 80% accuracy on the proficiency exam based on the course content
and reading materials. |

Learner must submit an acceptable impression for a cranial remolding orthosis on the foam
model supplied based on one of the casting methods provided in the course. |
• |
Learner must take a series of clinical pictures of the foam model or actual subject. |
• |
Learner must submit accurate anthropometric measurements of the mold to within 4 mm |
• |
Learner must complete a course evaluation and the return the head mold to Orthomerica
prior to the course being submitted to ABC. |

| Tuition and Fees |

The tuition for the course is $150 and includes the course materials and foam head mold. You will be required to provide your own casting materials and ship the cast impression and any other required materials to Orthomerica's Crainial Course Review Center. The tuition is payable by check, credit card or may be billed to your existing Orthomerica account. |
