Orthomerica® Introduces the New Newport Jr Hip Orthosis

Orthomerica® is pleased to introduce the Newport® Jr — a new pediatric hip orthosis. The Newport Jr was designed to enhance hip stability by supporting and positioning the hips in the optimal alignment while allowing controlled range of motion. This pediatric hip orthosis can be used post-operatively to maintain the correct surgical position, or can be provided to maximize function during activities of daily living. Improved alignment through the hip encourages appropriate acetabular and femoral modeling, and reduces the tendency for subluxation and dislocation.

The Newport Jr hip system includes Orthomerica's new pediatric hip joint — the PJ™. The PJ is the smallest hip joint available on the market, weighing only 5.4 ounces, and offers adjustable flexion/extension (in 15-degree increments) and abduction/adduction (in 10-degree increments). The PJ hip joint comes standard with curved proximal joint attachments, but can be ordered with straight bars. The PJ hip joint is available with the Newport Jr hip system or can be ordered separately.
