Orthomerica Introduces the PAL—Guard (Post Amputation Limb) Orthomerica is pleased to introduce the PAL Guard—a new post-amputation limb guard. The PAL Guard is used to enhance below-knee prosthetic treatment programs using traditional shrinkers or wrappings by preventing wound trauma to the unprotected limb. The adjustability of the lightweight system, ease of donning and doffing, and the ability to remove and clean the Coolfoam™ liner makes this product particularly effective for recent amputations. The PAL Guard has a durable copolymer shell and lateral uprights, is available in three sizes, and includes a waist belt and suspension strap.Available August 28, 2003.
