Orthomerica is pleased to introduce the new and improved TC Flex™ AFO System. TC Flex is a uniquely progressive orthotic management system for children and adults with neuromuscular, sensorimotor, orthopaedic and physical challenges. These custom molded orthoses are designed to stabilize the structures of the foot and ankle complex to enable the patient to utilize current and potential muscle capabilities.
TC Flex designs are made from thin and flexible thermoplastic materials, allowing the patient to receive proprioceptive feedback through total contact foot plate modifications. The midline stability provided by the orthoses helps guide the lower extremities into more normalized alignment. Activities performed in distally aligned positions trigger active motor learning and facilitate more normalized proximal modeling of bony structures and more balanced muscle groups. The combination of midline stability and simplification of motor tasks through precise orthotic intervention creates a context for the patient to upgrade ambulation and functional skills.
