The
STARlight™ Side Opening Band Cranial Remolding Orthosis
The
STARlight Band from Orthomerica is a custom cranial remolding orthosis
used to treat mild deformational plagiocephalic and brachycephalic head
shape deformities in infants 3-18 months of age. The clear, plastic design
allows visual inspection of areas of total contact, and provides immediate
feedback about skin integrity. This orthosis can be used post-operatively
to provide continued remolding for mild to moderate head deformities,
and also allows easy monitoring of the incision site.

STARlight band can be fabricated from a positive modified cast, unmodified
cast, or a scan of the infant's head using the STARscanner. |

STARlight Band provides total contact over the prominent areas of
the skull and leaves a void over the flattened areas to provide a
pathway for normal growth to occur. |
