The
STARlight Cap Cranial Remolding Orthosis
The
STARlight Cap from Orthomerica is a custom cranial remolding orthosis
used to treat mild deformational plagiocephaly, brachycephaly, and other
head shape deformities in infants 3-18 months of age. This clear, lightweight,
closed design is indicated for infants needing a remolding or protective
orthosis. Areas of total contact and voids are easily visualized, and
the design has been used for over fifteen years by a variety of cranial
facial centers.
| |
STARlight
Caps can be fabricated from a positive modified cast, unmodified cast,
or a scan of the infant's head using the STARscanner. |
| |
Treatment
generally takes 3-4 months, but varies depending on the patient's
age and severity of cranial asymmetry. |
| |
Intimate
fit of this unlined design may require more than one orthosis to accommodate
growth and changes. |
| |
Clinical
consultation is available through Orthomerica's staff of ABC certified
orthotists. |
| |
STARlight
Cap literature is available for practitioners, referring physicians,
patient families, and caregivers. |
