TORSO LITE ™ SPINAL SYSTEM

The prefabricated Torso™ Lite Spinal System has been specifically designed to support the lower back and the trunk. Specifically indicated for geriatric patients experiencing chronic low back pain as a result of vertebral degeneration, discogenic disease and postural deterioration.

The Torso™ Lite is a lightweight low profile orthosis which provides effective hydrostatic lift, stabilization of the lumbosacral spine and assists pelvic tilt/rotation control, promoting more comfortable standing, sitting, and activities of daily living. An optional Air Bladder may be incorporated posteriorly to allow variable control of lumbar lordosis, or may be added anteriorly for additional hydraulic compression and hydrostatic lift.

The optional Posterior Thoracic Extension [PTE] component may be added to the standard Torso™ Lite to control the thoracic spine for patients with compression fractures and kyphosis. The easily adjustable design provides increased stabilization of the thoracic spine and effective control of excessive kyphosis. Padded, lightweight construction ensures a comfortable and patient-friendly alternative to more cumbersome orthoses for geriatric patients with potentially limited brace tolerance.

Patient comfort has been maximized by incorporating soft Coolfoam™ liners which actively wick moisture away from the skin to eliminate perspiration build-up and reduce associated problems such as skin breakdown. Coolfoam™ liners are removable, washable and available as replacement sets.
